About Septic Pumping & Cleaning Process:
We specialize in
conventional systems,
mound systems and holding
tanks.
When we clean
your septic system, we first pump all waste from your tank using a method
called back flushing. Back flushing is the process of cleaning your tank
using vacuum suction and injecting water into the tank to break up the
scum layer so as to be sure we have removed the scum and sludge from your
tank.
The septic tank
should be pumped through the larger manhole, not the baffle inspection
ports. A septic tank cannot be thoroughly cleaned through the baffle
ports. If cleaning is attempted through the baffles, small holes may be
damaged in the process. This may have several significant consequences on
your septic system's operation.

Septic Tank
Maintenance:
Following these
guidelines below and observing the warning signs will help to ensure a
long-lasting sewage system. Avoid expensive repairs or replacements and
protect everyone's water supply. Do Not Wait until your septic system
shows signs of failure to have your septic tank pumped out! Waiting can
mean complete clogging & an expensive septic system repair bill. Periodic
septic tank pumping is far less costly, then septic tank repair, or
replacing the entire septic tank system.

1. Have the septic tank pumped out
every two to three years. This will remove the accumulated sludge
and scum which would other wise reach the tile field and cause
blockage resulting in a malfunctioning sewage system and costly
repairs. This is the single most
effective means of ensuring a long-lasting sewage system.
2. It is always wise to practice
water conservation.
3. Use soaps and detergents which are
low in phosphates. Most automatic dishwashing detergents contain
high concentrations of phosphates.
4. Do not flush hazardous chemicals
such as paints, varnish, thinners, waste oil, pesticides,
photographic solutions, etc.

5. Do not flush coffee grinds, dental
floss, disposable diapers, kitty litter, sanitary napkins, tampons,
cigarette butts, condoms, fat, grease or oil, paper towels, etc.
6. Commercial septic tank additives
are not necessary and not recommended.
7. Be alert to these warning signs:
*
Sewage surfacing over the tile field
*
Sewage back-up in the house
*
Mushy ground or greener
grass
*
Slow draining toilet or
other drains
*
Sewage odors

Many homeowners don't know where their
septic tank is. The tank is buried and forgotten, along with the rest of
the
system, until sewage is ankle deep in the basement or bubbles up in the
yard. Then, the septic tank system is unfairly criticized for failing to
do its job. How many people would buy an expensive car and never change
the oil? Similarly, regular maintenance of your septic system, by pumping
and using a bacterial additive, is necessary to ensure it's proper
operation.
Remember that the septic tank is a settling
tank which collects and stores sewage solids. When the storage gets full,
the tank must be cleaned and pumped. Typically, the average household
should consider having their tank pumped every 2 to 5 years, to ensure
proper operation.
